Chapter History

The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is a nonprofit international organization of professionals serving the legal community. ALA is structured into regions and chapters in order to meet the needs of local members. The Washington, D.C. chapter, the “Capital Chapter,” is one of the largest chapters and was founded October 23, 1973.

President’s Award
The President’s Award is an honor bestowed by the Chapter President to a member or members who display a commitment to professionalism, dedication to the advancement of law firm administration and have a record of long‑term or extraordinary service to the Chapter. Historically this prestigious award has been presented during the Chapter’s Change of Gavel which is typically held in March of each year.
